Mission & Approach
Our work is grounded in lived experience, community leadership, and a commitment to equity.
Our Mission
We believe people directly impacted by substance use and recovery should have a meaningful voice in shaping the systems, services, and policies that affect their communities.
SUD Voices for Change exists to advance recovery advocacy by amplifying lived experience, reducing stigma, and supporting more compassionate and effective systems of care across California.
Our Approach
We center our work around three guiding principles:
Lived Experience Leads
We prioritize leadership from people with lived and living experience at every level of our work.
Community Driven
We support regional communities that reflect the diversity and needs of California.
Collaborative & Inclusive
We partner across sectors to strengthen advocacy and create lasting change.
Why This Work Matters
Stronger systems start with real representation. Across California, too many people face barriers to treatment, support, and respect. We work to ensure that policies and programs reflect the experiences, needs, and solutions of the communities most impacted.
Let’s build better systems together.
Join a growing movement working to create more compassionate, accessible, and effective systems of care.
