Nothing About You Without You
When we say “lived experience,” we mean you — and others who know SUD firsthand: people who use drugs, people in recovery, family members, caregivers, and community members.
We’re building a statewide alliance to amplify your voice and reshape California’s state and regional policies, systems, and services, so they reflect real needs, not assumptions.
Why This is Different
People who are dealing with SUD need essential resources; however, their voices are often silenced by marginalization and stigma. We aim to address your valued perspective.
You know the realities of chronic underinvestment, stigma, criminalization, and cultural barriers. Those realities demand solutions grounded in lived experience.
SUD Voices for Change is centered on lived experiences—bringing together voices shaped by different paths, challenges, and communities to build systems that reflect real needs and lead to better outcomes for all.
SUD Voices for Change works to ensure California’s investments in SUD services are guided by people like you, resulting in policies that are more effective, culturally responsive, and community-driven.

Creating Lasting Change.
We are launching a self-sustaining, consumer-driven nonprofit with support from CAADPE and SAPC (The California Association of Drug and Alcohol Program Executives, and the Substance Abuse Prevention and Control Bureau of the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health.)
